GE Healthcare provides customized EHR solutions catering to different healthcare setting. In the healthcare vertical its main products include Community health solution for CHC’s, Centricity EMR, and Centricity practice solution which is an integrated EHR and PM for practices of all sizes.

GE’s Community health solution brings the power of GE technology to help CHC’s deliver high quality, low-cost care to vulnerable and underserved populations. It enables providers to deliver informed care more efficiently than using an EMR alone. It also helps CHC’s maintain their financial health by facilitating reporting on quality metrics to third parties for grant funding and contracts

On the other Centricity EMR, which is the most popular product offering from GE healthcare, is a stand-alone comprehensive ambulatory system which can integrate well with any revenue cycle management and practice management solution. It is designed to cater to larger physician practices.

The third offering, GE’s Centricity Practice solution is an integrated ambulatory EMR and PM system for practice of all sizes, it can also be used independently if desired. It helps practices meet their Meaningful Use 2 requirements and come with advanced workflow customization, e-prescribing, and patient engagement capability.

With GE healthcare providers can easily use mobile devices like tablets and iPhones to access charts and configure read-write access via Citrix®.

Poorly made enterprise EHR. Cumbersome.

Pros:
An EHR that has all the capabilities and functionalities needed for large medical enterprises or academic centers. Unfortunately, it is outdated and difficult to use for day to day functions.

Cons:
My colleagues always complain me about the latest and frequent bugs. Poor usability and efficiency are two pain points for our organization. Its hard to believe that so many large institutions are using this system in todays day and age.
