“Real-time skills visibility
Pros
It gives us a real-time way to manage skills and connects very well with Workday that is our HR system. We can capture both general office skills and competencies, along with the more specialized knowledge needed across our core business, manufacturing and service teams. It provides managers with solid tools to monitor, manage, develop and forecast their teams while also supporting compliance requirements. Their implementation team has also been incredibly supportive and genuinely pleasant to work with.
Cons
A few additional improvements would make it an even better fit for our business. One thing we would really value is a "Competency Coverage" column in the team matrix that shows the current number of competent employees next to the target number required for compliance. Having that side-by-side view would make it much faster to tell at a glance whether we are meeting targets. Also, while it has many strong features some of them do not fully work for us because of the system's back-end logic and the way the front-end handles color coding and icons. Because of that.. we have had to create a workaround that has unfortunately added some extra manual data entry. Another point is language support.. the front-end can be translated into local languages that is very useful for a global company like ours with sites in many countries but the process took more time than we originally expected.
