What Is BIStrainer?

BIStrainer is a cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS) tailored for the contemporary digital environment. It offers solutions to tackle common challenges in safety industry training and compliance. The platform facilitates online training deployment, enabling companies to optimize training processes and meet safety standards. BIS Trainer evolved into BIS Safety Software, expanding from a training-focused LMS into a unified safety and compliance platform. It covers training, inspections, incident management, risk management, equipment oversight, and workforce operations.

What Is BIStrainer Best For?

BIStrainer is best known for centralizing safety training and compliance management in one system, replacing spreadsheets and manual paperwork with a structured digital workflow. Its standout feature is the ability to combine training with real-world documentation; users can upload certificates, complete safety forms, and submit compliance records directly within the platform.

  • Implementation And Setup Fee: Typically $1,500–$8,000+, depending on setup complexity and system configuration
  • Data Migration: Usually $2,000–$10,000+, depending on volume of records and documents
  • Training And Onboarding: Around $500–$3,000 for initial setup and staff training

  • Premium Support (Optional): About $1,000–$8,000+ per year for enhanced support plans

BIStrainer is generally viewed as a higher-value, flexible pricing platform rather than a low-cost option. Users often say the pricing makes sense when the system is fully used, especially because it replaces multiple tools and reduces admin work. Feedback highlights that its value comes from centralizing safety documents, controlling user access like subcontractors, and getting responsive support when needed, which helps justify the overall cost for organizations managing compliance at scale.

Use Cases Of BIStrainer

Based on our analysis of BIStrainer's current capabilities, here are the key scenarios where it is the strongest fit:

1. Construction And Oil And Gas Companies Managing Site Safety Compliance

BIStrainer is specifically designed for construction companies and oil and gas service providers that require safety training at scale across multiple site locations. Project-based organizations where new workers are onboarded frequently, and compliance records must be maintained for audit benefit, from the training matrix and automated expiry alerts — removing the need for manual tracking spreadsheets.

2. Organizations Transitioning From Paper-Based Safety Processes

The tool’s Digital Forms feature allows organizations to digitize paper-based processes, improving efficiency and compliance tracking with custom form creation for hazard assessments and inspections. Companies that currently manage safety records with binders, printed forms, and manual data entry use BIStrainer to consolidate everything into a single, auditable digital system.

3. Companies Delivering Both Online And In-Person Safety Training

BIStrainer supports a full spectrum of training delivery, including online programs, classroom programs, coaching and mentoring, and competency validation — connecting theory training to practical in-person components through the classroom calendar. Organizations that cannot deliver all training online, such as those requiring hands-on equipment certification, use BIStrainer to manage both streams in one platform.

4. Safety Training Providers Selling Courses To External Clients

The software includes an integrated eCommerce store, allowing safety training businesses to sell courses directly through their LMS. Training companies that deliver courses to multiple client organizations use BIStrainer as a white-label platform to manage course delivery, certification, and reporting across all their clients from a single system.

5. Enterprises With Complex Multilingual Workforces

It supports multiple languages, including French, English, Spanish, and German, with course language linking technology that allows users to access training in their own language based on their profile settings. Large employers with diverse or international workforces use this to ensure compliance training reaches every employee in their preferred language without maintaining separate course libraries.

Best Online Training System in the marked-Go Paperless

Pros

BIStrainer is a cloud-based training system designed to cater to organizational training needs, especially in areas like health, safety, and other important aspects that impact a company. It's suitable for all types of businesses, and they customize the program to fit your specific requirements. We recently implemented this training system in our company to provide training on Sexual Harassment Policies. The setup process was quick and hassle-free, and the customer support team was friendly and guided us through the entire process via video call. We are now in the process of integrating it with our internal system to automate the training process. One of the great features is the ability to send training materials to a large number of employees at once without any issues, and downloading reports to track the number of consultants who have completed the training is extremely easy. This software is particularly beneficial for companies with limited HR departments that lack an official trainer. It saves time, money, and ensures a consistent record of trainings. All the training sessions are video recordings with real-life examples followed by questionnaires, which greatly enhances understanding of the scenarios.

Cons

The only con I can think of right now is the visual appearance. The system looks a bit outdated, but it doesn't compromise the quality. I would suggest making it more visually striking.
