Edpuzzle

Using Edpuzzle, teachers can extract a video from YouTube, record a screen capture, or upload their own file. Then, they can cut the beginning and end or remove a section from the middle using the built-in editor. Trimming a video down this way means a ten-minute clip can become a ninety-second one without leaving Edpuzzle. This helps keep lessons prep inside a single workflow.

With this Edpuzzle feature, multiple-choice, open-ended, and true/false questions can be dropped at any point in a video's timeline, pausing playback until the student responds. Because grading on the multiple-choice and true/false formats happens automatically, a teacher gets a class-wide completion picture. This leaves open-ended answers as the only ones that still need a manual read.

Slide decks built in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Keynote can be uploaded as a PDF through Edpuzzle Slides. Users can make it interactive by embedding questions onto individual slides. A teacher moving through a lecture this way can see in real time which students answered correctly, and which needs the material explained again. They don’t really have to wait until after class to find that out.

Using the platform, students can start their own video assignment by searching Edpuzzle's YouTube library, recording a screen capture, or uploading a file, then adding their own questions or notes before turning it in. This puts the editing and question-writing tools normally used by teachers into the students' hands. So, an assignment stops being something a student watches and becomes something they build.

It is a library of pre-built video lessons, already fitted with embedded questions and organized by subject and grade level. A teacher who needs a lesson ready by tomorrow can assign one straight from this library and won’t have to build a video from scratch.
