Key Takeaways

Generated from the text of customer reviews

OneTouch EMR is a cloud-based, chart-based EMR for independent practices, running on iPad, Android, Windows, or Mac, with e-prescribing and billing added by plan. Reviewers report slow support replies and difficulty reaching the team during setup, though they credit the tabbed encounter chart with keeping each visit organized. Recently, OneTouch EMR added an AI Suite with Voice Scribe, Pre-Visit Summary, and After-Visit Summary.

Our Verdict

OneTouch EMR suits independent practices and medical groups that want a customizable chart-based EMR. Every plan includes unlimited staff users at no extra cost, but the AI scribe is a separate add-on that could raise the monthly bill. We recommend it for small multi-provider groups that plan to add modules by moving up plans as they grow.

What is OneTouch EMR Software?

OneTouch EMR is a cloud-based EMR and practice management system for independent practices and multi-provider medical groups, built for more than 50 specialties. Providers chart visits, e-prescribe, order labs, and see patients on iPad, Android, Windows, or Mac, and an optional AI Suite adds an AI Voice Scribe and visit summaries. Practices can bill insurance in-house with OneTouch’s practice management and billing software or hand claims to its billing services team.

What Is OneTouch EMR Best For?

One of the standout features of OneTouch EMR is its AI Voice Scribe. It runs in the background of the exam room on the practice’s existing room PC and a standard USB or laptop microphone, separates doctor and patient speech, drafts a structured note in the language of the visit, and flags likely errors for the provider to review and file. It is part of the optional AI Suite on Bronze and higher plans, alongside a Pre-Visit Summary that briefs the provider before the visit and an After-Visit Summary that gives patients a plain-language recap in their language and reading level.

How Much Does OneTouch EMR Cost?

OneTouch EMR pricing starts at $49/practice/month for Copper, a core charting plan for up to 20 providers. Full EMR plans are priced per provider per month, and each tier adds modules:

  • Bronze – $79/provider/month
  • Silver – $149/provider/month
  • Gold – $399/provider/month
  • Platinum – $599/provider/month

Every plan includes unlimited staff, scheduling, a secure patient portal, paperless intake, the iPad app, and online training. The AI Suite is an add-on for Bronze and higher plans, priced by provider count, with no setup fee or per-note charges:

  • 1 provider: $129/month ($79/month for the first 2 months)
  • 2–3 providers: $199/month
  • 4–10 providers: $399/month
  • 11–20 providers: $699/month
  • 21+ providers: Custom Pricing

Pricing sentiment centers on value rather than cost. Some reviewers credit the per-provider plans for charging only for features in use, while others tie the low price to slow support, a trade-off that makes responsiveness part of the value judgment.

Who Is OneTouch EMR For?

OneTouch EMR is designed for independent practices and medical groups, including:

  • Family medicine practices
  • Internal medicine practices
  • Pediatric practices
  • Urgent care clinics
  • Psychiatry and mental health practices
  • Podiatry practices
  • Aesthetics practices

OneTouch EMR Use Cases

Based on our analysis of user feedback and OneTouch EMR’s features, we have identified the following scenarios where the platform could be a good fit:

Independent Practices Seeking To Reduce The Time Doctors Spend Typing SOAP Notes

Typing notes during or after exams pulls a physician’s attention from the patient to the keyboard. OneTouch EMR’s AI Voice Scribe listens in the exam room, separates doctor and patient speech, and drafts a structured note in the language of the visit, in any of 11 languages, which the physician can keep or translate to English. The After-Visit Summary reaches the patient portal in the same 11 languages, and the physician reviews and approves both before they are filed or sent.

Multi-Specialty Groups Charting Across Different Exam Needs

A family physician, a pediatrician, and a urologist in the same group each need exam and review-of-systems templates that match their own visits. In OneTouch EMR, each provider charts with templates for their own specialty, while the group’s providers work from a shared patient chart, schedule, and billing.

Front Desk Teams Handling Patient Check-In

Front desk teams collect demographics, insurance details, and consent forms at every check-in. OneTouch EMR sends intake forms and consents for patients to complete online before the visit, and the front desk scans driver’s licenses and insurance cards directly into the patient’s chart.

Primary Care Clinics Documenting Wellness Visits And Preventive Care

Annual wellness visits, screenings, immunizations, and counseling each need to be recorded, and the provider needs to see what a patient is due for. OneTouch EMR builds templates for wellness and chronic disease visits, follows CMS E&M coding guidelines in its charting, and shows what each patient is due for. It is ONC-certified and supports MIPS reporting.

Is OneTouch EMR Right For You?

OneTouch EMR fits independent practices and medical groups of up to about 20 providers that want a customizable, chart-based EMR and the choice to bill in-house or outsource billing. The system runs every provider and location with unlimited staff users, and a practice can move a tier at any time, with custom plans above 20 providers. For a buyer, this means a practice can grow on the same EMR, adding modules by plan.

OneTouch EMR version 3 is ONC-certified and is HIPAA-compliant with SSL security. Its charting follows CMS E&M coding guidelines and supports MIPS/MACRA reporting. For a buyer, this means the certification can be checked by CHPL number, and E&M and MIPS requirements are part of the charting workflow.

“Just started, but I am loving it so far”

Pros

It is a budget-friendly solution for my small practice, and I'm confident it will scale well as my practice grows in the future.

Cons

Well I don't have much experience with EMRs, but I found the learning curve with this system to be quite manageable. Even though setting up my preferences took a bit of time at first, but now that it's done, I am getting better at moving through the steps.

“Better than others...”

Pros

It is easy to use and is cloud-based, which is so exceptional. It doesn’t require a double entry. Also it offers free certified software in contrast to all other software I came across that offers either a monthly or a yearly subscription fee. Plus it can import data from a practice fusion account into its system. Multiple users can use one primary account. And it is easy to generate clinical quality measure reports.

Cons

At times it takes a while to receive confirmation emails when a new account is created. Plus, system updates often make it hard for us to log into the system.
