False promises.

Pros:
When I was about to purchase the software it seemed very impressive in what it said it would deliver however, it was very misleading.

Cons:
Every additional feature such as MIPS, ECPS, and more cost extra. In the end, you end up paying a ton of money! The billing is also very confusing and long. They also take forever to clear billing issues.

They fooled us.

Pros:
Their presentation and pitch to sell us the software were great but they failed to deliver on every single thing!

Cons:
You will be charged extra for every single thing! Every extra feature has a huge price tag in hidden charges.

Inefficient EMR

Pros:
Switching between inpatient and outpatient platforms is a bit easier.

Cons:
A one-stage process in most EMR's is 5 strides in Allscripts. Fundamental regular elements of clinical consideration are not practical or require long workarounds and support isn't useful and has delayed actualizing any changes. I have used many EMRs and each has its upsides and downsides, yet I currently can't seem to discover one thing that is good about Allscripts over different EMRs. I would not suggest Allscripts as a single platform EMR.

Easy to use

Pros:
It can keep a running graph for patients by separating it into classifications of MD notes, approvals, and even a running table on task/notes back and forward between provider/nurses or medical attendants. It solves the paper charts problem for us and has everything in one system which makes it easier to use.

Cons:
None.

Needs to come back in the competition

Pros:
I like that there are places where we can view the flowsheets in a grid type way so as to look and compare data.

Cons:
They need to make changes to the system and get back in the competition. They need to be more competitive and should also be more user-friendly. It is a bit complex when it comes to charting as there are many ways to chart and view things.

About the software

Pros:
I like how easy it is to keep a track of patient progress with Allscripts. Unlike many EMR companies I have used, Allscripts always takes into account our suggesting while rolling out any updates. This goes to show that they truly care about their customers. I like how we can see the history of the past 5 patients we prescribed medicines too. The scheduler is simple and effective.

Cons:
The only issue I face is with the untimely updates that hinder our daily tasks. If only they could roll out updates after business hours that would be great.

Wonderful experience so far

Pros:
Since they already had many Pediatric specialty clients, it was easier for us and them to customize the system based on the needs of our practice. During the implementation process, we made sure we take our time and make as many changes and additions we need before going live. The training process was simple and the representative from Allscripts was well equipped with all the information. Customer service is capable and pleasant.

Cons:
I am already paying for the product, charging me for additional upgrades sounds a rip off to me.

More than Satisfactory

Pros:
We have been with the company for more than a decade and can safely say that it has evolved with time. Allscripts EMR is intuitive and the system is accredited with all the necessary regulations and regulatory bodies. It’s easy to maneuver. Editions and changes can be made easily instead of discarding a certain template and restarting from scratch.  This feature especially comes in handy for the new hires.

Cons:
If they could mirror the same features in the offline system as they have in their online one that would be great.

Easy Charting

Pros:
I was skeptical of going electronic but that’s the need of the hour and so we did. We chose Allscripts because of its ease of use mainly. Customization, charting and referral have never been easier for us. I like how smoothly we can send out e-prescriptions to the pharmacies.

Cons:
Their upgrades are done frequently which for me is a bit overwhelming for someone who has used paper charts throughout. However, their customer support is always there to assist us with any challenges we face.

Security

Pros:
This product has all the latest security measures in place which makes it secure for me to send out any referrals. Allscripts EMR is updated with all the latest accreditation and government regulations. Apart from that, it is easy to maneuver and the overall workflow is very efficient.

Cons:
One drawback that I found out was its inability to run on all kinds of applications which I hope they will work on.
