Generated from the text of customer reviews
Esticom is a construction estimating and preconstruction management software used by general contractors, subcontractors, and mid-sized construction firms. Users consistently highlight the speed of completing digital takeoffs as its strongest point, though the auto-count feature may require improvements. Procore recently made Bid Leveling generally available, allowing admin users to modify and compare subcontractor bids side-by-side within the platform.
Our Verdict
Esticom connects takeoff and bid data directly into project budgets, making it most valuable for contractors who need preconstruction and construction data in one place. Pricing is considered fair, though smaller firms may flag it occasionally as too costly for their scale. We recommend Esticom for firms prioritizing preconstruction workflows.

Esticom Use Cases
Based on our analysis of the user feedback of Esticom’s current capabilities, we have identified various use case scenarios where this software is a strong fit for contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams managing complex preconstruction and project workflows:
General Contractors Managing Multiple Concurrent Projects
General contractors running several jobs at once often reach a point where tracking budgets, bid status, and project communications across separate tools becomes unmanageable. Without a shared system, estimators and project managers end up working from different versions of the same information, and visibility at the leadership level breaks down. Esticom may be a suitable fit for firms in this position , particularly those where the gap between active bids and ongoing project delivery is creating coordination gaps that slow decision-making.
Specialty Contractors Handling High-Volume Estimating Workloads
Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing contractors frequently face periods where bid requests arrive faster than their estimating team can process them. The bottleneck is rarely a lack of expertise; it is the time consumed by manual quantity calculations and organizing estimates across disconnected files. For specialty contractors dealing with this volume problem, Esticom could be worth considering, particularly where the priority is processing more take-offs within the same timeframe without compromising pricing accuracy across proposals.
Mid-Sized Construction Firms Standardizing Preconstruction Processes
Growing construction firms often hit a stage where the tools that worked at smaller scale - spreadsheets, shared drives, and informal handoffs - begin creating friction between estimators, project managers, and finance teams. Inconsistent estimate formats, lost bid data, and manual budget transfers slow the transition from preconstruction to execution. Esticom may suit firms at this inflection point, where the need is less about adding headcount and more about bringing structure to a preconstruction workflow that has outgrown its current setup.
Contractors Seeking To Improve Bid Win Rates Over Time
Contractors that lose bids regularly often lack visibility into whether the problem lies in pricing, scope interpretation, or proposal quality. Without a consistent record of past estimates and outcomes, refining a bidding strategy is largely guesswork. Esticom could be a practical fit for firms that want to treat preconstruction as a measurable function, using historical cost data and past bid performance to identify where estimates have been consistently off and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
Firms Managing The Handoff From Estimating To Project Execution
One of the most common points of data loss in construction happens when a won bid moves from the estimating team to the project team. Cost codes get recreated manually, budget structures do not match the original estimate, and the financial baseline the estimator built rarely transfers intact. For firms where this handoff regularly results in rework or budget misalignment, Esticom may be worth considering, the platform is designed to push estimate data directly into the project budget without requiring duplicate entry on either side.

“Good Procure Add On, unavailable for free licenses
Pros
I find it easy to use with Procore, which removes the need for multi-platform data transfers and work processes.
Cons
Esticom recently became an integrated Procure tool, but during the transition, Procore users with non-profit or free licenses can't access it. I hope this changes over the next year since this is the main function Procore lacks, and I currently pay for a separate third-party app integration to make up for it. I appreciate that Procore has a non-profit program to help us train new trades employees for adopting digital construction tech, so it's a minor inconvenience that this feature isn't available for free yet!
