McCormick Electrical Estimating Software

Thousands of electrical items details and over 30,000 pre-built assemblies are included in McCormick contracting estimating systems to help contractors create accurate and complete estimates. In addition, the software allows contractors to import electrical equipment prices from significant pricing services like NetPricer and Trade Service and update pricing directly from Excel files.

Since 1979, McCormick Systems has provided comprehensive solutions like electrician estimator software to commercial, industrial, residential, low voltage, solar, and other specialty contractors. McCormick's estimating program is divided into several levels, each of which caters to a different group of contractors, ranging from individual contractors and small service firms to multi-million dollar contracting firms. Moreover, McCormick provides a complete and fully featured estimating package with an "all in one" built-in digital takeoff (Design Estimating Pro).

McCormick Software Features

Efficient Takeoffs

Estimators benefit from McCormick's patented takeoff system, which allows the fastest possible takeoff. You can choose between basic and advanced takeoff. At the same time, remove multiple items and assemblies. In seconds, you can easily customize McCormick's pre-built assemblies or quickly build your own. All takeoffs are immediately sent to an audit trail on the screen for review, sorting, and filtering. Your takeoff is automatically saved.

Extensive Database

This estimating program is built around McCormick's well-known database. The software includes a database that contains parts and assemblies for Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Institutional, and Low Voltage applications. You can create detailed and accurate bids using this database. Furthermore, the database can hold virtually an infinite number of items and assemblies and an infinite number of articles and assemblies for each job. Therefore, you can take hundreds of items apart from any assembly.

McCormick vs Accubid

July 2022

Jas N.

Electrical manufacturing

Pros:
You will be needing three separate licenses and programs to get the experience McCormick will give with just one program. Undoubtedly the best customer support.
Cons:
If you use a 64-bit operating system then this program will need some adjustments to run since it is 32-bit based. Accubid has a more extensive data base so it's more time saving.

This program has helped us save a LOT of time

Pros:
Fantastic program to complete bids, loads of pre-loaded assemblies to get you started right away. Changing between projects very easy.
Cons:
A lot of work needs to be put in before you can feel comfortable about a bit. Takes a lot of updating to maintain efficiency.

User for a very long time

Electrical manufacturing

Pros:
It enables you to create assemblies and takeoff on the fly. Multiple bid summaries, unlimited workspace buttons, and the ability to extend to MS Excel you name it and it has it all!
Cons:
Customer support is great but is a bit expensive.

Easiest estimation program I have used

July 2022

Bill A.

Plumbing

Pros:
I have been using estimation software for a while now so I am familiar with how most of them work. McCormick sets itself apart with an amazing customer support. Excellent video tutorials has helped newbies in my company become an expert.
Cons:
Some more site utility related materials should be added. It would complete an already robust library.

So far so good

Construction

Pros:
Interface is confusing at first but very easy to use once you get a hang of it. Easy to put together a list of materials.
Cons:
It is pricey. Moreover, entering data of materials and labor takes a lot of time.

Probably the best all around software in the industry

June 2022

David D.

Electrical manufacturing

Pros:
It helps you to bid faster with fewer people thanks to its streamlined takeoff process which I found to be the fastest around. If you are new to this, you can try out their less expensive versions and then move on to the full suite.
Cons:
Since I run a small business, I found it to be expensive. Otherwise it's just fine.

Learned it within a week!

June 2022

Dee Dee H.

Electrical Manufacturing

Pros:
All the features you would need to complete a bid are right here at your fingertips. Great educational videos and I needed no external help to get a grip on it.
Cons:
Using it for an electrical job bid is not very smooth. I feel I could not use it to it's full potential.

I would suggest you look elsewhere

June 2022

Lars P.

Construction

Pros:
It is genuinely a good a software when it works. It has all the features you'd want and can do anything you put your mind to.
Cons:
It's a shame that these features are downright unusable for me at least. We spent almost 20 hours trying to get their IT team to link McCormick with our current system, but to no avail. File management is so clunky and susceptible to so many crashes it's just impossible to be productive with it.
