PlanSwift Software

PlanSwift is a simple construction takeoff and estimating software program that makes takeoffs a breeze with a few mouse clicks! General contracting, electrical, flooring, HVAC, plumbing, and other trades are all served by this software.

PlanSwift is among the top takeoffs and estimating software designed for general contractors and subcontractors in almost every construction trade, including commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential.

Contractors and estimators can use drag-and-drop capabilities to combine digital assemblies with takeoff items and generate accurate estimates. In addition, PlanSwift allows users to speed up the takeoff process by measuring areas, items, lengths, volumes, and perimeters in a matter of seconds using point and click functionality.

Key Features of PlanSwift

Drag-and-Drop Tool

Using drag-and-drop capabilities, users can drag pre-configured or newly created assemblies onto takeoff items to calculate material, waste, labor costs, and expenses. PlanSwift software can adjust cost projections, change product costs, and recalculate prices in the one-go in a project change.

Highly Accurate Calculations

PlanSwift software calculates material, waste, labor, and other variables in real-time. You will no longer have to wonder whether or not you have completed the calculations for a specific area. It's completed as you make it. Furthermore, you can use the built-in reports or export your takeoff/estimate to excel. In either case, you can rest assured that the entire job has been calculated and is ready to begin. Labor is calculated in the same way that materials are.

Efficient Integration

PlanSwift Construction Software is establishing itself as a platform to provide all you need in one place. Many online plan rooms and estimating software partners are developing partnerships based on its seamless integration and SDK (Software Developers Kit), allowing you as a customer to have a positive, integrated experience.

You can also directly send PlanSwift Takeoff quantities to your existing MS Excel estimating spreadsheets using the program's MS Excel integration.

Stellar accuracy - few loopholes; would recommend.

Pros:
I have learned to blindly trust PlanSwift when it comes to takeoffs because of its accuracy! It even allows me to implement my scale according to how I work; mostly on the occasions when the client or the consultant chooses not to provide me with one.
Cons:
Sadly, there are some shortcomings to the subscription (but then tell me of a software that is perfect). For example, I would like the developer to include the feature to annotate simple shapes like arrows and circles. At the moment, I am forced to export to another PDF client to add shapes and stuff.

It is the only assistant I need for estimating civil works quantities.

Pros:
With PlanSwift, I save a lot of time since I no longer have to perform time-consuming manual calculations by hand. And handling drawings is also dead simple thanks to its cool functionality. The program allows you to upload PDF designs, scale them to your needs, and determine the quantity of each activity from project excavation to completion. It also integrates seamlessly with Excel and creates BOQs on the backend.
Cons:
It is great that you can keep multiple tabs open simultaneously - but switching between them is somewhat frustrating due on account of some technical bug. And the software does not remember the last drawing you were working on, so you have to locate and open the file from scratch each time you restart it.

It will increase your productivity - highly recommended!

Pros:
I found PlanSwift simple to learn with on point accuracy. What's great is that it allows you to export data into Excel in whatever way you choose without any restrictions. It seems expensive on paper, but keep in mind that this is a one-time purchase (no annual fees) and compares well to competitors who charge both an upfront price and an annual fee. And I speak from experience here.
Cons:
What I dont appreciate about this software is that the standard customer support is not very knowledgeable - especially when it comes to reports. To unlock their more knowledgeable support backup, you have to pay extra to get a training package (or pay by the hour). This is pretty excessive, if you ask me!

PlanSwift gives consistent, high-quality results.

Pros:
PlanSwift offers a great degree of user-control over takeoffs - and I can change the takeoff colors, add notes, make my own legend (with notes - hurrah!), add lines and arrows, and more. It is simple to add an area to the same layer, and it is equally easy to remove a portion. When you delete a section, it displays quite neatly as a blank space that doesn't affect other layers or the original drawing. This might not sound like much but it saves you from a lot of frustration in the long run.
Cons:
It takes a lot of time to load. Opening the application, producing a pdf, and arranging files within the software becomes really time-consuming when I import too many drawings at once. It sometimes freezes my Windows desktop as well, forcing me to restart it and start working all over again! Not fun.

Customer Support could be better but the software is decent overall.

Pros:
When it comes to functionality and attention to detail, Planswift is unmatched. It has a simple layout with perfectly placed menus. And the building tools for components and assemblies are incredibly precise and enable accurate takeoffs. It also offers excellent customizability and reporting functions. I’m happy!
Cons:
There’s not enough storage space which is typically needed for takeoff photographs. Customer support is unreliable. Please fix these concerns - and you’ll have an all-round winner.

Easily among the top takeoff and estimating software in the market.

Pros:
In my experience, there is nothing better for high volume takeoffs than PlanSwift on the market. The assemblies can be built for free if you want to save money, or you can buy packages that correspond to your business's area of operation. You can generate a straightforward estimate and takeoff with just a few clicks! This software can be used for general contracting, electrical, flooring, HVAC, plumbing, and other trades as well. So, it comes packing a lot.
Cons:
The only thing that needs to be sped up when creating a new workflow is the process of importing PDF plans and converting them to TIF files. It can take up to 30 minutes to import and convert a 100-page PDF. That’s too much!!

Great for estimation, cost-effective, needs better customization/profiles control.

Pros:
The takeoff portion feels natural to use and I mastered it in just a few hours. PlanSwift can be costly for some but I would still consider it to be affordable when taking stock of the large number of features it offers. All of my users can extract whatever info they require from the shared database. Also, it’s great that you can use calculations to determine the amount of material needed for a takeoff.
Cons:
I had to design my own assembly in order to use the pricing section since it was not pre-made as it should be. And the custom reports can easily be deleted by any other user which means there’s a constant need to maintain a backup. Please introduce a more intelligent design protocol here!
