What Is Push Health?

Push Health software facilitates virtual connections between patients and licensed medical providers, including doctors, Nurse Practitioners (NP), and Physician Assistants (PA). It offers secure messaging, e-prescriptions, lab test ordering, and invoicing. The platform is optimized for both web access and mobile devices, ensuring accessibility and convenience. Push Health also integrates with over 55,000 pharmacies, with Quest Diagnostics lab testing available across 37+ US states. Operating on a direct-pay model with no insurance billing, it has served over 1,000,000 patients since its founding in 2013. The platform optimizes the process of receiving and managing healthcare services remotely to achieve long-term business growth.

What Is Push Health Best For?

Push Health is best known for its proprietary e-prescribing workflow — the fastest path from clinical decision to pharmacy-ready prescription in a direct-pay model. A provider needs only a patient's email address to route a prescription to any of 55,000+ pharmacies nationwide. The entire workflow runs from a mobile device with zero administrative overhead.

How Much Does Push Health Cost?

Push Health pricing starts at $20/month for the Standard Practice plan. It follows a straightforward subscription model for licensed providers, with patient registration remaining free across all tiers. Other plans include:

  • Standard Plus Practice: $60/month
  • Open Practice: Custom pricing

Beyond the subscription, providers should account for these additional costs:

  • Consultation fee: $64.99–$80/patient
  • Implementation: $0–$5,000+
  • Training/onboarding: $500–$1,000
  • Maintenance/support: 20–25% of annual software cost
  • Data migration: $2,000–$25,000 (larger clinics only)

Users generally find Push Health competitively priced relative to traditional in-person visits, with service fees often running below typical co-pay costs. Some, however, have raised concerns about being charged upfront before full-service details or outcomes are confirmed.

Push Health Use Cases

Based on our analysis of official product information, and Push Health’s current capabilities, we have identified several scenarios where the platform is a strong fit for healthcare providers delivering virtual care services:

Independent Providers Offering Virtual Consultations

Push Health works well for physicians, nurse practitioners, and other licensed providers running independent virtual practices. The platform allows clinicians to manage patient communication, prescriptions, and follow-ups without relying on a large administrative setup. This makes it suitable for providers who want to maintain flexible schedules while continuing to offer remote care services.

Practices Managing Prescription Refill Requests Remotely

Medical practices that frequently handle prescription renewal requests may benefit from Push Health’s workflow. Providers can review patient information, communicate securely, and send prescriptions electronically through connected pharmacy networks. This setup helps reduce unnecessary in-office visits for routine medication management.

GLP-1/Weight Loss Patient Management

Push Health supports providers managing GLP-1 therapies and structured weight loss programs. Clinicians can handle virtual consultations, adjust dosages, and manage follow-ups without in-person visits. It also enables secure communication and prescription handling, helping providers track patient progress and maintain consistent care for ongoing weight management treatment.

Healthcare Professionals Seeking A Lightweight Telehealth Workflow

Some practices do not require a large enterprise EMR system for virtual care delivery. Push Health may suit providers looking for a more focused telehealth workflow centered around messaging, documentation, prescriptions, and lab coordination. Its simpler structure can reduce the learning curve for smaller teams transitioning into remote care services.

Is Push Health Right For You?

If you are a licensed Doctor of Medicine (MD), NP, or PA looking to run an independent virtual practice on a direct-pay model, Push Health is built for your workflow. Its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, including secure communication and integrated lab services, support efficient patient care. It also offers notably convenient access to healthcare services without the need for in-person visits, making it a practical choice for managing minor health concerns.

Push Health is LegitScript certified — a third-party compliance verification recognized by Google, Meta, Visa, and Mastercard. The platform has been operational since 2013 and has served over 1,000,000 patients across independent and group telehealth practices in the US. Above all, Push Health is both secure and scalable, helping medical professionals and patients.

Push Health Features

Lab Test Ordering

Push Health allows providers to order lab tests through its integration with Quest Diagnostics. Providers receive a fully integrated Quest Diagnostics account with pre-negotiated pricing for patients — with no paperwork or monthly invoices from Quest. It also enables patients to visit local labs and delivers results electronically. Thus, it simplifies the diagnostic process and enhances operational efficiency.

Secure Messaging

The platform provides a secure messaging system, allowing patients and providers to communicate confidentially without sharing personal contact information. This feature ensures privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations, and it facilitates timely consultations and follow-ups. Providers can also message colleagues securely through a dedicated colleague messaging feature. All messages are stored within the patient's chart for documentation continuity. As of August 2025, Push Health added System Messages to consolidate important in-app notifications directly within the messaging section.

Integrated Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

The software includes an integrated EMR system that enables providers to document patient interactions efficiently and optimize record-keeping for easy access to patient histories. Providers can add progress notes directly within a patient's chart and view all previous encounters from the Patient Care dashboard. Patient records, including prescriptions, lab results, and messages, can be exported as a PDF file using the Export Chart feature.

See How It Works
E-Prescribing

Its e-prescribing functionality connects providers to a vast network of pharmacies. This integration allows for the electronic transmission of prescriptions, improving accuracy, convenience, and reducing the need for paper prescriptions. Patients receive a notification, choose their preferred pharmacy, and pay any applicable professional fees before the prescription is routed electronically.

See How It Works
Voice And Video Calls

Push Health includes both private voice calls and instant video calls as standard features across all plan tiers. This enables providers to conduct real-time consultations when asynchronous messaging is not sufficient, without leaving the platform or sharing personal contact information.

See How It Works
Check-Ins For Weight Loss

Push Health's Check-Ins feature allows patients to track and share weight loss progress directly within the app. As of March 2025, Check-Ins can be sent directly to the provider, creating a structured asynchronous loop for ongoing weight management care. This feature supports providers managing GLP-1 and weight loss prescriptions and was further refined in August–October 2025 for smoother tracking.

See How It Works
Group Practice Management

The platform supports group practice functionality for multi-provider teams. Providers can invite colleagues to join their practice directly from the platform, send secure colleague-to-colleague messages, and manage a shared patient network. Professional fees, state licenses, and practice details are all manageable individually per provider through the Edit Profile section.

Scammers!!!

Pros

It is fairly good being able to get care from home. But honestly no one got back to me like not through email, calls or even messages for more than a day.

Cons

I got charged $65 and did not get any kind of contact or care. Felt like they just took the money and disappeared.

Push Health is an app that both patients and medical pros can use right on their phones. It alerts a healthcare provider when someone needs help and it is loaded with useful info to help anyone find the right care nearby. I highly recommend it!

Cons

It is all about keeping people safe and healthy. That's really its main focus and it does that job well. Honestly I do not have anything bad to say about it.
