Training staff has never been easier!

Pros:
It was a treat to use Athenaclinicals. The learning modules made everything easy to navigate and training the staff was made easier too. Creating reports was much easier too!

Cons:
Reviewing and clearing claims that were made was a little tricky because of the complex language. Maybe learning modules for that would help!

Pathetic.

Pros:
The doctor seems to like it and it seems popular.

Cons:
I called them for help about something but they refused to help me saying that since I was a patient any questions I had should be dealt with by my doctor not them! Even though the question was about THEIR software.

Pros:
Athenahealth’s EMR solution is easy to use and I really enjoy using it. While entering the diagnosis of the patient, it suggests orders and medications which is something I really like.

Cons:
There might be a glitch in the system as there are times when labs and appointments are displayed under another provider’s name.

Nice and easy layout

Pros:
This software has nice and easy layouts. I enjoy it mainly for its charting and patient records. Changing options to fit the needs of the unit and its functions is easy.

Cons:
It is expensive. Plus, there are times when tech support is not always helpful. When the server is down, things stop for a long time, as it takes time for them to get the server back and running.

athenahealth

Pros:
Athena is a good EHR system. Signing up for their billing portion also helps as we pay less to an RCM team and it gives us good options. It also gives its clients the ability to have their EMR and if we want, we can outsource billing at the same time.

Cons:
From time to time we’ve noticed that the Athena team doesn’t convey our information back to the billing management team, which often causes confusion especially in cases like accounts that been sent to collections.

Not good

Pros:
There isn’t anything that I could count as a pro.

Cons:
The software is complicated. I click on to do something while the software keeps on suggesting to me things that I don’t need it to do. It doesn’t remember the patient’s diagnosis from earlier visits. It doesn’t keep my frequently used codes or orders. It doesn’t work on a tablet, phone, or Chromebook.

Review

Pros:
Athenahealth is the only EMR system that I’ve ever used and I’m pretty much satisfied with it. The system is simple and functional. It helps us preview provider schedules which makes it a lot easier for us in terms of accessing. Also, this is one of my favorite features of the system.

Cons:
It doesn’t allow us to complete the full psych treatment plans directly into the system, just for this we use another separate system to develop ISPs and then transfer it to athena.

Athenahealth helps us produce quality reports. I like the system's ability to obtain raw data and measuring the outcomes.

Cons:
Athena’s reports and communicators do not have many capabilities. UDs data reporting.
