Simple but efficient

Pros

What I appreciate the most about this software is how I can set up my project and then adjust or alter various systems or create line items and zones.

Cons

I'm not directly linked with Alpriser, so I have to manually enter all updates into the database.

AutoBid Mechanical Mid-Level User Review

Pros

The speed of performing a take-off is a major highlight. It's fast software with minimal lag. The database is decent, although it would be better with a wider range of prebuilt services available out of the box or for download. Setting up a new system with proper connectivity can be a bit time-consuming and cumbersome.

Cons

I can't customize Trimble Reports. There aren't good tutorials for customizing Rapid Reports to achieve the same look and output. I wish there were more specific advanced training videos or resources. A more comprehensive course would be helpful. I've figured out a lot through various methods.

Quick Pen / Autobid review

Pros

It's the most recognized sheet metal estimating software in our industry. I've been using Quick Pen since it was DOS-based with a digitizer and dot matrix printer, and the progress over the years has been significant. There are a few issues, like the inability to merge the plumbing version with the sheet metal version, which I thought would have been resolved by now, considering most shops using QP have both plumbing and sheet metal estimators.

Cons

Since our last update, we've been unable to work on the network. We have to exit the server, do the takeoffs, and then copy the summaries back onto the server.
