Easy to use with powerful personalization

Pros

Gem is really easy to use and the learning curve was minimal. Setting up sequences takes just a few steps and is very practical and because there are so many placeholders available I can personalize outreach at scale without having to craft each message from scratch. I also like being able to add notes and tags to candidates since that keeps team collaboration clear, organized and transparent across different recruiters. In my role as a recruiter the platform feels almost like an ATS as the filters are granular and powerful and I can scrape or search efficiently when I am looking for very specific profiles. Another big benefit is being able to reuse my own database and talent pools over time which reduces our reliance on external sourcing tools and speeds up outreach. From a team lead viewpoint the reporting dashboards make it easy to monitor pipeline health and recruiter performance which is extremely valuable when scaling teams and managing hiring rate.

Cons

It is on the expensive side particularly because we still require another tool for actual sourcing. Many modern sourcing platforms already include built-in emailing capabilities which can make this tool feel like an added cost rather than an all in one solution. Additionally the ATS integrations sometimes seem somewhat limited and often demand extra checks or manual work to make sure data is syncing correctly which increases operational overhead.

excellent support for team collaboration

Pros

What I really like about GEM is how well it supports collaboration. I depend a lot on shared projects with my colleagues and the tool makes it easy to set an effective workflow.

Cons

I want it to improve the project filtering features. Right now filtering feels off and is not very smooth. Given how strong the rest of the platform is, the filtering could be much more powerful and user friendly. I also wish it gave my team more freedom when building our own dashboards. And I while I like the many widget choices having so many makes it harder to create the exact dashboard we need on the first try. I often spend time experimenting with different widgets and settings to find the right combination for our use case.
