Key Takeaways

Generated from the text of customer reviews

Podia is an all-in-one platform for selling online courses, digital products, coaching, and memberships. It is mainly used by creators, educators, coaches, and community managers. Users appreciate having multiple tools under one subscription, while some report concerns around website changes and account management.

Our Verdict

Podia is a good fit for independent creators, educators, and coaches who want to manage content sales, memberships, and audience engagement from one platform. It is particularly useful for those replacing several separate tools. However, the subscription may be difficult to justify if website building is the primary need. We recommend it for creators monetizing an active audience.

Podia Use Cases

Based on our assessment of Podia features and user feedback, we have identified several situations where the platform suits educators and coaches:

Creators Selling Online Courses And Digital Downloads

Independent educators can use Podia to host video lessons, text content, and quizzes for a paid course. Learners can log into a dashboard to track lesson progress and download attached files. Course creators can drip content on a schedule, cap enrollment at a set number of seats, or bundle a course with a digital download. Users appreciate its ability to combine different functionalities, like email marketing and website creation into a single platform.

Coaches Managing Bookings And Client Sessions

Podia ca be used by coaches to sell one on one or group sessions and connect a scheduling tool such as Calendly or SavvyCal to handle bookings. Clients can pay upfront through Podia's checkout before a session link becomes available to them. This setup removes manual invoicing and reduces back and forth scheduling emails between coach and client.

Community Managers Running Paid Membership Groups

With membership tiers, users can offer free or paid spaces equipped with group chat, direct messages, and dedicated discussion topics. Using the platform, members can set up individual profiles and manage their own alert preferences. Addtionally, operators can easily bundle community access with courses, downloads, or coaching into one combined offer.

Event Hosts Selling Tickets And Managing Registration

Podia can be used by hosts to sell tickets for virtual or in-person events and connect to various platforms for the session itself. Once users set up an event, Podia sends email reminders before the event starts and allows replay once the event has ended. It also allows hosts to convert that replay into a standalone paid product afterward.

Is Podia Right For You?

If you want to combine course sales, community hosting, and email marketing under one account, Podia fits that need. As it offers multiple tools for website builder, email marketing, payment processing, and audience management, this eliminates the need for having multiple third-party tools or systems. It follows GDPR protocols, ensuring data security.

Podia Features

Online Courses

This feature allows creators to upload videos, audios, and text lessons as well as attachments and quizzes. Students log in to their own learning dashboards to see the lessons they have done and to resume their learning. Creators can set up lesson release schedules, limit the number of seats available in a course, and provide certificates of completion when a student completes the course.

Digital Downloads

Digital downloads allow creators to offer files up to 5GB in size, packaged as part of a single product, in unlimited quantities. There are a variety of delivery choices such as free email capture, free signup gate or paid purchase behind the checkout. Users who have already purchased an account can log in at any time to download their files again, while creators can view the number of times each file is accessed and who has bought it.

See How It Works
Coaching

Using this feature, creators can either sell one on one or group sessions by going to their website. The platform offers integration with multiple scheduling platforms, so they can handle the bookings once a payment from the client comes through. Similarly, creators can pick the price they want for each type of session, and even before the booking link is available, they collect the payment through Podia’s checkout.

Events

The events feature covers both virtual and in person sessions, by connecting to different streaming and meeting platforms. Hosts can sell registration fees, add files (worksheets, waivers, etc.), and send automatic reminder emails prior to the event. The live session is then replayed on Podia for registered viewers to access at their own time.

Email Marketing

Podia's email tool enables multi step campaigns, automations based on subscriber actions, and audience segmentation based on tags or purchase history. Creators can monitor opens, clicks and revenue per broadcast/sequence sent. Sign up forms are embedded on any page to build up the subscriber list, and a custom sending domain is available for deliverability.

Website Builder

Users don’t have to be efficient in coding to build their website as it can be done through the drag and drop feature. With the help of Podia, creators can choose the colors, fonts, layouts and images to their liking and customize it however they want. Website builder allows custom domain names, provides built-in SEO fields for separate pages and an automatic mobile optimization for users searching for it on their devices other than desktop.

great features backed by reliable support

Pros

Building a site or landing page is fast with this platform. The interface looks clean and professional and my clients find it easy to use. I switched from WordPress because there's no more hassle with constant updates or troubleshooting issues and honestly, the cost difference isn't that big when you consider all the time I save.

Cons

I haven't had any major issues but there are a couple of features I'd love to see, like the ability to copy lessons and modules between different courses. I'm sure those updates will come eventually.

All-in-One Platform Solution

Pros

The growth of these services has totally replaced the need for any other tools as a solo creator. I've been using accounts for students enrolling in my paid workshops and courses since May 2023 and it fits perfectly with the system I've set up for myself.

Cons

I'm working on building up my expertise with this platform. I'm not after official certifications, just trying to master all the features so I can guide my students better through everything it offers.
