Connecteam is project management software for field-based teams working for construction, healthcare, hospitality, and field service organizations. Several users appreciate the platform’s ease of managing daily operations, while some note that the repetitive shift setup requires extra time. Its recent update includes the addition of Chat Polls that allow teams to gather votes directly within workplace conversations.
Our Verdict
Connecteam focuses on coordinating deskless teams and their daily field operations. It suits small to mid-sized organizations with mobile workforces and repetitive assignments. The platform’s pricing is considered reasonable for smaller teams, though the cost structure gets complex as headcount increases. We recommend it for service businesses managing regular field projects with distributed employees.

Connecteam Use Cases
Based on our analysis of Connecteam’s current capabilities, we have identified key scenarios where this tool works well for project-based organizations where employees work across job sites, shifts, or multiple locations:
Construction Teams Coordinating Multiple Job Sites
Construction managers always have their crews moving between projects while relying on the traditional paper records or spreadsheets for daily coordination. Therefore, it gets challenging for managers to keep track of attendance records and provide consistent job information throughout the different sites. Connecteam software gives managers a platform to coordinate fieldwork while keeping records tied to individual jobs.
Cleaning Companies Managing Distributed Crews
Cleaning businesses assign employees to different properties throughout the day, which makes it difficult to keep track of their attendance and work status. Connecteam helps managers who are operating under such situations by providing them with visibility into where scheduled work is taking place. It lets supervisors manage several teams without being physically present at each location.
Field Service Businesses Tracking Work By Job
The system lets field service businesses coordinate employees working throughout different locations and separate assignments. It allows managers to keep work organized by job while maintaining clearer records of where employees are working. The software is particularly useful for field service sectors, such as electrical and HVAC, where contractors have to connect labor activity with service assignments.
Healthcare Providers Coordinating Mobile Care Teams
Home care and other mobile healthcare operations always have the risk of their employees working independently throughout various client locations. The platform solves this issue by allowing managers to coordinate schedules while maintaining consistent communication with the staff who are rarely at a fixed workplace. It helps organizations manage repetitive client visits throughout a wide service area.
Security Companies Managing Shift-Based Operations
The software supports security companies that need consistent reporting when responsibilities are transferred between guards during scheduled shift timings. It allows managers to keep daily operational information organized and make follow-ups easier when an incident or incomplete duty needs attention. Connecteam is specifically relevant for security teams where accountability depends on knowing what was completed during each shift.
Is Connecteam Right For You?
If you run a project-based business with on-field teams that need time tracking and task management, then Connecteam might be the right solution. The platform is SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 certified, and it follows the GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, and PCI DSS standards to provide security for employee data. Trusted by several organizations globally, including B&B, ESP Pros, Caremark, and Happy Paws, the platform is capable of meeting the needs of growing companies.
Recent industry trends show an increasing number of project management platforms incorporating artificial intelligence. Connecteam is keeping up with this pace through its AI-assisted scheduling and an AI agent for workplace information. However, the software is more suited for businesses with remote and on-field teams rather than traditional office-based teams.

Connecteam Features
Time Clock
Connecteam features a time clock app that records employee hours through mobile, NFC, kiosk, or POS-based clock-ins. It provides managers with GPS and geofencing tools to verify the work locations of on-field employees. Additionally, the system’s timesheets help users calculate overtime, breaks, and PTO. It also lets managers review approved hours before sending them to payroll or using them for project billing.
Forms And Checklists
The platform lets teams create digital forms and checklists for inspections, site checks, and repetitive tasks. It allows employees to complete these forms and checklists from mobile devices while managers can track submissions in real-time. Additionally, the system provides employees with conditional fields to help managers collect the right information based on each response.
Scheduling
Connecteam software allows managers to create employee schedules based on each team member’s availability and roles. It lets employees confirm the assigned shifts or claim open shifts once their managers have published the work schedules. Managers can then compare scheduled hours with actual attendance, respond to any staffing gaps, and receive notifications when planned schedules result in overtime.
Task Management
The system lets managers assign one-time or repetitive tasks with their specific deadlines and clear instructions. It allows employees to access supporting files, forms, or checklists within each assignment to follow the project instructions and complete it with accuracy while keeping the information together. Connecteam also allows managers to track the status of tasks and get follow-ups on any incomplete projects through desktop or mobile.
Chat
The platform allows managers to send individual or group messages to employees working at different locations or on the same projects and in the same departments. Additionally, it lets managers schedule messages around clock-ins and attach files with important details regarding a particular project. The software lets teams share files and discuss work updates without using personal messaging apps.

“appreciate the messaging feature”
Pros
Sharing information with the team is so easy. The messaging feature is great and I love that I can see all messages in one spot.
Cons
Occasionally the app takes a bit longer to load. I'm not sure if it's due to the many moving parts on the screen.

“Lets us monitor our sales reps”
Pros
Being able to track our sales reps in real time is a huge bonus especially at such a low price. We can see their routes and make sure they're covering the right areas.
Cons
One thing I'd like to see is a feature that tracks the number of days worked as our company pays by days, not hours. Right now it only counts hours.
