Fingercheck is a cloud-based workforce management platform that helps businesses handle payroll, employee scheduling, time tracking, and HR tasks. It is commonly used by HR and payroll teams in industries such as retail, healthcare, restaurants, and field services. Many users appreciate the support experience. Some, however, mention that the website navigation can feel confusing. Quite recently, Fingercheck released the ‘Punch Requests’ feature, which lets employees submit missed-punch corrections directly in the system.

Our Verdict

The software is a dependable option for small to mid-sized businesses that manage hourly or shift-based teams. It works well for organizations that need consistent payroll handling as staff numbers grow and operations become more structured. Pricing is often seen as more suitable for growing operations than for very small teams. Overall, it is recommended for SMBs that need stability as they scale, especially in service-heavy environments. Smaller teams may find it less practical if their needs remain simple.

What Is Fingercheck?

Fingercheck is a cloud-based payroll and HR solution that simplifies and automates HR and payroll tasks for small to medium-sized businesses. The software provides several solutions for time tracking, payroll processing, benefits administration, and people management. It supports end-to-end HR management from hiring and onboarding through offboarding, with automated workflows that keep employee transitions organized and reduce time spent on manual paperwork. Its mobile app lets managers run payroll, approve time off, set work rules, and more from anywhere. The platform also supports integration with 401(k) providers and automated payroll deductions. All in all, it addresses various challenges in HR and payroll processes by automating tasks, reducing manual work, and minimizing errors.

What Is Fingercheck Best For?

Fingercheck is well-regarded for its mobile app. The app allows employees and managers to access time and attendance data, submit time-off requests, view pay stubs, and more from their mobile devices. Managers can also approve, review, and edit reimbursement and scheduling requests from the app. They can also verify punch details with GPS and photo verifications. On the other hand, employees can view their earned wages through the ‘Pay On-Demand' feature. They can also check PTO balance and request time off. Available for both iOS and Android users, this level of accessibility and convenience through a browser or mobile device is a significant differentiator for Fingercheck.

How Much Does Fingercheck Cost?

Fingercheck's pricing starts at $29/month + $7/employee for its Time & Attendance plan. The monthly cost varies based on the plan selected and the number of employees. Other plans are:

  • 360: $79/month + $10/employee
  • 360 Plus: $129/month + $12/employee

All three plans have a minimum spending requirement equivalent to five employees. Custom-priced add-ons, such as Next-Day Pay, Background checks, 401(k) Integrations, and more, are also available.

Organizations may also incur the following additional costs:

  • Data Migration: Usually $500 – $5,000+
  • Initial Setup Fee: Generally $200 – $2,000
  • Implementation/Configuration Fee: Typically $500 – $3,000
  • Training & Onboarding Sessions: Approximately $300 – $1,500
  • System Integration Costs: Generally $500 – $4,000+
  • Payroll Data Cleanup: Ranges between $250 – $2,500
  • Custom Workflow Setup: Roughly $300 – $2,000
  • Hardware/Time Clock Setup (if used): Typically $200 – $1,500/device

Users often find Fingercheck’s pricing flexible but somewhat expensive once per-employee fees and setup costs are added. The base plans seem affordable for small teams, but the total cost can rise quickly with add-ons, hardware, and implementation charges included. This makes it more suitable for SMBs.

Fingercheck Use Cases

Based on our analysis of Fingercheck’s current capabilities and user feedback, we have identified key scenarios where this software is a good fit for small and mid-sized businesses:

New Businesses Setting Up Payroll For The First Time

Fingercheck is often used by business owners who are moving from manual payroll to their first dedicated system. They usually need something that does not require a long setup phase or heavy technical input to get running. The early days of a business are already busy, so the focus tends to be on keeping payroll simple and consistent without adding extra work. Users often say the transition feels manageable, especially when compared to handling everything in spreadsheets.

Service Businesses Managing Employees Across Locations

This software also fits businesses where work happens in different places instead of a single office. That can include field crews, retail groups, or teams that rotate between job sites during the week. Managers in these situations usually need a steady way to keep track of attendance without constant check-ins. Fingercheck tends to work well here because it keeps daily workforce activity easier to follow, even when teams are spread out.

Companies Moving Away From Older Payroll Systems

Some organizations come to Fingercheck after dealing with payroll tools that no longer match their workflow. The decision is often less about adding new capabilities and more about reducing the friction they already face. Switching systems can feel disruptive, so they usually look for something that keeps the process steady during the transition. Users commonly mention that moving away from older platforms felt smoother than expected, particularly when handling ongoing payroll cycles.

Hourly Work Environments With Frequent Scheduling Changes

Fingercheck is also used in businesses where schedules shift often and hours can vary from week to week. This is common in sectors like hospitality and construction, where staffing needs rarely stay fixed. In these cases, the main challenge is keeping time records accurate when plans change quickly. Users often describe the system as dependable for staying aligned with actual hours worked, which helps reduce confusion during payroll processing.

Businesses Operating Under Strict Payroll And Labor Compliance Requirements

Some companies rely on Fingercheck because payroll has to follow strict reporting and labor rules that leave little room for error. This is especially relevant in regulated industries where records may be reviewed or audited. The priority in these environments is keeping information consistent across every payroll cycle without relying on manual checks. In this regard, Fingercheck helps reduce repeated corrections, particularly when rules vary across jobs or locations.

Is Fingercheck Right For You?

Are you looking for a comprehensive, user-friendly solution for HR and payroll management? Fingercheck might be the perfect fit for you. It is an all-in-one workforce management solution, helping teams handle daily operations with fewer manual steps and more consistency across payroll and employee records. It serves over 5,000 businesses and has a diverse client base, including American Power Electric Corp, Smartek USA Inc, Haven Security Alliance, LLC, Aloft Management, and CUE Residential.

Waste of Time and Money

Pros

Signing up was a breeze, and the pricing details are readily available on their website.

Cons

Navigating their website menus is nonsensical and makes it incredibly difficult to find anything. They impose account holds for issues they themselves cause, which prevents us from paying our employees. They filed our taxes incorrectly, leading to additional expenses for refiling. Doing business with them is excessively challenging.
