Key Takeaways
Generated from the text of customer reviews
Culture Amp is an employee engagement and performance platform. It is primarily used by HR teams at mid-size and enterprise organizations. Users mention the interface becomes more intuitive over time, though reporting and customization can be limited. In March 2026, it introduced the Performance Culture Quadrant to assess how culture influences performance.
Our Verdict
Culture Amp is a good choice for organizations building a long-term people strategy rather than simply measuring engagement. Its estimated pricing is fair for mid-size and enterprise businesses looking for a unified HR platform. However, teams with simpler requirements or limited HR resources may find its lighter alternatives more practical.

What Is Culture Amp?
Culture Amp helps businesses track and improve workplace culture through structured feedback. At its core, the platform runs employee surveys and turns the responses into analytics that show where an organization is strong and where it is falling behind. Then, it ties those findings back to individual development plans.
Setting up the software takes real work, since building out survey structures and reading the resulting data calls for actual HR input rather than a plug-and-play process. Once that groundwork is done, though, the interface is simple enough to work across companies of very different sizes.
What Is Culture Amp Best For?
Culture Amp best fits organizations that want engagement surveys built on validated research. That’s because the software’s core strength is running those surveys through Culture Amp's own People Science team. The team consists of researchers who test every question against a data set of several employee responses before it reaches employees. This is particularly beneficial for HR leaders under pressure to show measurable outcomes, since it means engagement scores tie back to research instead of assumption.
How Much Does Culture Amp Cost?
Culture Amp pricing plans can range between $9 and $14/employee/month. However, the exact quote may vary based on number of employees, chosen product, and service tier.
The vendor offers the following plans at custom pricing:
- Engage
- Perform
Beyond the base subscription cost, the following factors can influence the overall investment:
- Implementation And Onboarding: Included to $5,000+, depending on organization size and service tier

- Manager And Admin Training: Included to $3,000+, with advanced coaching available at an additional cost

Culture Amp Use Cases
Based on our analysis of Culture Amp's platform and the scenarios where it holds up best, here are the situations where it can be a strong choice:
Managing Employee Experience Across Large And Distributed Teams
Culture Amp works well for mid-market and enterprise organizations that need a consistent way to gather employee feedback across teams. HR leaders can compare results by department, manager, location, or other groups to identify trends without losing visibility into individual teams. This is especially useful during periods of growth or organizational change.
Consolidating Engagement, Performance, And Development Into One System
Switching between multiple HR tools can slow down every day processes. However, Culture Amp combines engagement, performance, and development on a single platform. This way, it becomes easier to have employee feedback already available when managers are planning reviews or discussing growth.
Companies Running An Existing HRIS
For an HR team already using Workday, BambooHR, ADP, or a similar system, keeping a separate engagement tool updated by hand creates constant data drift. Culture Amp's integrations sync employee data from these HRIS platforms automatically. So, demographics and organizational structure stay current.
Organizations Tracking DEI Outcomes Across Employee Groups
Overall engagement numbers can hide actual differences in how various groups experience the same workplace. Culture Amp's DEI survey tools include demographic customization and heatmaps built specifically to surface disparities between groups, such as differences in how people view career growth or belonging. Therefore, Culture Amp could be a strong fit for organizations that need this kind of breakdown rather than a single aggregate score.
Distributed Or Remote-First Teams
Culture Amp's pulse survey tool is built to track the impact of organizational changes over shorter cycles. The results are placed against built-in benchmarks automatically. This particularly works for teams spread across locations or time zones, where informal check-ins in a shared office are not an option. It gives leadership a way to catch shifts in sentiment between the larger annual surveys.
Is Culture Amp Right For You?
Culture Amp may be a good fit for organizations looking for an employee experience platform that can support growing or distributed teams. It holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification and is a CSA STAR Level 1 member. This means its security controls have been independently audited rather than self-reported. Also, a dedicated Data Privacy Officer handles GDPR compliance, which is worth noting for employees based in Europe.
Culture Amp's customer base includes companies such as Steve Madden, ZS Associates, and LendingTree, indicating that the platform is capable of supporting employee engagement and performance programs across multiple departments and locations.

Culture Amp Features
Retention Insights
Culture Amp features Retention Insights that helps HR teams understand factors that may influence employee turnover. It analyzes engagement survey responses alongside employee data to identify patterns across teams, roles, or demographics. These insights can help users spot retention risks early and take targeted action where it is needed most.
Skills Coach
This feature helps deliver short and interactive learning activities that help managers build leadership skills over time. Platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email can be used to deliver lessons. The focus can be on topics such as coaching, feedback, resilience, strategic thinking, and one-on-one conversations. The content uses spaced repetition and practical exercises to encourage consistent learning rather than one-time training.
Storyboards
The software’s storyboards turn survey results into presentation-ready reports. It combines charts, metrics, and employee feedback. So, instead of exporting data into separate tools, HR teams can use them to share findings with managers and leadership in a format that is easier to understand.
Goal Management
This feature helps employees and managers align individual goals with broader business objectives. Users can track progress throughout the review cycle. It also creates a shared view of priorities between managers and employees. The goals can also be updated to reflect new expectations as business needs change.
AI Comment Summaries
AI in Culture Amp helps organize large volumes of open-ended employee feedback into concise summaries. This way, the HR teams do not have to review every individual response. “Perfect for annual team feedback”
Pros
Overall it's been a really positive experience. Our team uses the engagement and survey features the most. We're still trying to get more people to use the 1-2-1 functions. The way it summarizes survey responses into themes has saved us a ton of time!
Cons
It doesn't always sync perfectly with our employee list so we often have to remind people about surveys through our intranet. Every now and then, a new hire doesn't get included because the list didn't update or sync in time.
